MACLELLAN’S MOUNTAIN – Betty Jean Tracey, 63, MacLellan’s Mountain, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Charles Frederick and Muriel Mae (Arnold) Brown. She was employed with Nanny and Company Education Centre, Priestville for the past three years. She had been previously employed in private childcare and with the former Clairitone, Stellarton. Betty Jean always said that her most important role in life was raising her three children, whom she dearly loved. She was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to Country music and traveling throughout the province camping with her family and friends. Betty Jean cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and her husband, John shared 45 wonderful years of marriage, a love that lasted a lifetime.

Surviving are her husband, John; daughter, Heather (Richard) Allard, MacLellan’s Mountain; sons, Peter (Carina), Calgary, Alta.; Mark (Tracy), Stellarton; grandchildren, Adam, Nikki, Sami, Alyson, Brayden, Gavin and Katie; great-grandchildren, Hailie and Paige; brothers, Freddy (Sharon), Priestville; Gordie (Janet), New Glasgow; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 10 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 11 in the chapel with Capt. Neil Abbott officiating. Interment will be in Priestville Cemetery at a later date.
